Celebrating 20 Years of Yoga: A Journey of Transformation and Gratitude

Twenty years ago, I embarked on a transformative journey that would shape my life in ways I could never have imagined. Little did I know, when I first walked through the doors of the Kripalu Center in October 2003, that yoga would become not just a core practice for my body, mind, and heart but the foundation of a fulfilling and enriching career. As I celebrate two decades of teaching yoga, I reflect on the incredible journey, the lessons learned, and the profound impact it has had on my life.

The Seed Planted:

In my early adulthood, when I was navigating the challenges of finding my path in the working world, my father shared a valuable piece of wisdom – "life is too short to do a job you don't love." This nugget of advice, though I had not yet stepped onto a yoga mat back then, planted a seed that would later blossom into my calling as a yoga teacher. Little did I know that this seed would grow into a career more satisfying than I could have ever dreamed.

Yoga's Transformative Power:

Yoga has been a constant companion through the highs and lows of my life. It has challenged me, humbled me, changed me, and, in some instances, saved me. The practice has altered the course of my life, leading me to places and people that have enriched my journey beyond measure. The union of yoga and my sincere efforts to deepen my practice and build a career has created a space for incredible growth and self-discovery.

Diverse Teaching Environments:

From gyms to church rec rooms, elite athletic training centers to parks and beaches, and now North America's largest center for yoga, my teaching journey has been diverse and rewarding. Each environment brought unique challenges and opportunities to connect with a wide array of individuals. The rich tapestry of experiences has contributed to my growth as a teacher and a person.

Lessons Learned:

Yoga has not only reshaped my physical well-being but has also changed the way I perceive myself and others. It taught me to approach thoughts and emotions with curiosity and compassion, fostering a deeper understanding of the human experience. The practice demanded lifestyle changes, prompting me to embrace self-care in accordance with ancient yogic principles.

Looking Ahead to 2024:

As I step into the exciting year of 2024, I am thrilled to share my passion for yoga through various avenues. From leading Kripalu Yoga Teacher Trainings to hosting unique retreat programs like "The Kripalu Yoga Sadhana Retreat," to amazing outdoor adventures like Snowshoeing and Yoga, and my beloved creation of Knit Pray Love a retreat where crafting meets mindfulness, there is much to look forward to. Additionally, I will continue to connect with my communities, globally, through my two online platforms, offering classes on The Thread Yoga Collective and The Circle of Thread Yoga Community.

As I celebrate two decades of teaching yoga, I am filled with gratitude for the profound impact this practice has had on my life. The journey has been a tapestry of experiences, challenges, and growth, and I look forward to the years ahead with excitement and a deep sense of purpose.

Whether online or in person, I invite you to join me on this continuing journey of self-discovery and well-being. Check out all of my offerings HERE

Until then, take good care of yourself!
