Just like you, I have had many ups and downs in my life, small or large waves of daily or seasonal crises. Surviving them used to be like riding a roller coaster ... in complete darkness ... without a safety harness ... having no idea when it would end. It felt out of control. I was full of fear. I felt helpless and exhausted.
But then I found yoga. And yoga gave me the vision and strength to harness those waves and live my life with my whole heart.
I know, it sounds too good to be true! It can't be that simple, right?
Well yes and no. Yes, yoga is a simple and accessible set of practices that work quickly on all levels of our being, body, mind, & heart.
And no, yoga is not a panacea, it will not cure everything that ails you or eliminate every crisis.
What is does do is provide tools to take care of ourselves during the storms, practices to help us see more clearly what is real and true, and ways to connect to what is most meaningful and important in our lives, to help with perspective so we can navigate our way through (rather than avoid) challenges.
I believe right now more than ever we have the chance to make a change in our lives. To see things through a new lens. To navigate uncertainty with skill. To dig deep and find our & nurture our foundation of wellness. The global crisis that we are all facing has brought about the opportunity to put our on the mat & cushion practices to the "real life" test.
And there is always need to sharpen tools, fortify practices, and connect with community.
